In honor of National Minority Health Month, the City of Paterson celebrated the opening of CBH Care’s Mental Health Urgent Care Clinic situated at 680 Broadway, Suite 206. This new facility marks a significant milestone in addressing mental health challenges within the community.
CBH Care: A Grass Roots Voice for People with Mental Illness
CBH Care which began as a mental health advocacy organization almost 50 years ago is where we find the shining beacon day in and day out serving the mental health needs of persons in our community. The introduction of this clinic amplifies CBH Care’s mental health urgent care network by three facilities in Passaic County, providing the life-saving backup needed by adults age 18 and older that confront mental health emergencies.
Sayegh’s Mayor Mental Health Commitment will Lead to Change!
Mayor Sayegh of Paterson said he is benchmarking the mental health problems on priority and emphasized that his town is the leader of addressing these challenges. He stressed the evidence of the clinic as something real as a way to address a real long term problem of the community.
Grant Award and Mental Health Initiative
However, Mayor Saidj contends that the community mental health ambassador program spearheaded by the Mental Health Initiative earned a $25000 grant from the Mayors Wellness Campaign. Under this plan, which is tasked with Community Mental Health Advocates, they do street outreach as ambassadors, make referrals on mental services, carry out awareness discussion, and advocate for mental health support within the region.
